This is an incredible story.. How could the government let something like this happen..How can they not see not only the need to preserve the rainforest, but the income that can be made by caring for it and maintaining it.

Some parts of Amazon are completely abandoned. We don’t have resources enough to take care of 4 million of km2!

Its so simple: you make a cut on the tree, then you collect the ”liquid ” and send to factories which process in all sort of ways.

kind of like tapping for syrup? Wouldn’t that make enough profit to create jobs and stability for the people and STILL make the forest self sufficiant economically?

can’t the government step in..obviously the rubber tappers are more profitable and saving the forest.

The government is not strong in that area. I t would be necessary an intervention from the Army (and nobody wants the military take actions).
