I agree it’s better than have an army without a battle than a battle without an army.

Michael : Brazil was worse than Mexico and has recovered..got back on it’s own two feet again..not perfect..but functioning quite well..Mexico is trying, but only half assed, as we have a lot of political divide who also wants to see us kept exactly as we are..
Mexico and Brazil are the two most important Latin America (although we are generally deemed North American) countries.. I can’t help but hold hope in my country knowing that worse situations have made almost complete turn arounds for the better.

@ Oscar, we know very well how hard is to be respect by those 2 north americans countries. They simply think us like their backyards.
@Michael: Brazil and Mexico always being stopped to join forces, because US would feel threated.

Hi Michael!
The problem is that US armed Colombia. Then Venezuela started to buy weapons too because those 2 countries aren’t so friendly.
Finally, US decided to re-activate the 4th Fleet, curiously, few months later Brazil has discovered 55 billion oil barrels of oil in our coast.
It’s for prevention, not for attack.

”World Peace” LOL! Are you a miss?
But seriously, that’s true. Specially now when the world situation is becoming more and more unstable.

Yes I did read ALL of this article!! (Yes, I must be crazy).
Hi Celso!
Yes, there’s always been concern about the use of armies in South America, particularly concerning their use in countries’ internal affairs.
However I don’t see any real reason for panic right now concerning the Brazzilian army. Surveillance yes, but things could be much worse.
What do you think? Is there a real threat here?

I agree. Moreover ANY country should have a strong (which I don’t take to mean aggressive) National Defence. More so countries situated in certain parts of the world......That’s what armies should be for. Defence.
I know there shouldn’t be ANY armies, but, until someone comes up with a world peace pill........
