Cruelty towards animals is a crime against life. It is unpardonable. It happens all the time all over the world. At least democratic countries have laws against animal cruelty. The rise in conviction shows that more pro-active action is being taken by the agencies for prevention of animal cruelty.

Since Britain is a role model for prevention of cruelty towards animals we are witnessing more convictions of offenders. I disagree with this line - "BRITAIN’S reputation as a nation of animal lovers was shattered this morning..."
