Hey Celso, interesting article and quite creepy too. You are speakin truth when you say nature could be a greater killer than many can ever think. Natural disasters, insects, animals, etc. Over here in India, thousands die due to flooding, earthquakes, cyclones, snakes, and the biggest killer has to be mosquitoes and houseflies thanks to all the malaria and cholera they give us. There lies a killer in every little object, animate or inanimate. The only difference is, animals and nature don’t know they are killing but humans do, they kill even when they know what they are doing.

The literally name of that bug is Bit-snake wasp, because it is so aggressive and dangerous that even snakes can’t resist. Children and dogs die.

Interesting post!

After tempting people with beaches and parades now you want everyone to rethink about visiting Brazil?

Insects are quite common in India too, but I haven’t seen collection of such lethal kind. They even look dangerous!

Amazing, they have got adapted to cities as well...here in cities one finds just mosquitos, flies and bees...only in villages we see real diversity of insects.

In the country side of Brazil, things get even worse, because of the number of things that can kill you, and because the variety of places. In banana trees (I dunno the name in English) there’s always a risk of getting blind because of the brwon spider, a very, very aggressive spider that jump on the face of people!

And I cannot forget the some beaches are dangerous too. Sure that in the biggest cities such things are rare, but in the suburbs they are hidden between trees.

There is even a specialised institute here where people can see those animals, along with snakes, it’s call Butantan Institute.

These things can enters anywhere and imagine what would happen if they enter the jungle inside?

I studied the article fully and alls looks more dangerous than our local Indian’s. Yr’s are having some killing instinct.Here in India there’s a famous Hindi song,’BICHCHU DUD GAYA’ [means a scorpian bite],used for a sexy encounter.

Here in India people always cry with the song Brazeeeeel,Brazeeeel and enjoy everything related including sambha...[you know I also like,thats a secret yaar].

Holy Hell! My wife’s sister lived in Sao Paola and Brasilia for a time, about 22 years ago and commented on how all insects where HUGE in Brazil, but the pictures you are showing is insane..Are they really that common, do you use exterminators like we do for the poisones centipedes, spiders, and scorpians? Do they work?

Yes Oscar, they are normal. Of course that in the middle of the big cities they are rare, but just walk 20 miles and there they are!

There is also the rodents, reptiles and amphibians that appear from time to time to give a fright in people. In the midst of Sao Paulo sometimes appear capybaras and alligators.

That is one freaking Scary Family you reveal in the pictures. Such insects with gigantic proportions would make anyone scared. It is also the way they have been scarily designed by the divine creator. We are lucky to be at a hill station here in India so we seldom come across such insects. The only danger is the centipede but then we are too used to killing it in a flash. Scary Place Celso, I thought Sao Paulo was all fun as they show it on the TV.

When you walk 5 minutes outside Sao Paulo you get inside of a jungle called Atlantic-forest, one of the jungles here.

I always knew that Brazil has more insects than any other country in the world. Honestly the first thing I would do is run out of the bathroom to get my camera, if I see one of these things inside the shower! Even the Yellow-banded Poison Dart and Piranhas are found in Brazil right? It’ll be really cool to have Piranhas in my Aquarium, they are freakin awesome. Btw it’s a really good post Celso :)
